Diamond D was awarded this vital restoration project which consisted of the energized replacement of the 6.75 mile transmission line due to the impact of Hurricane Zeta which supplies power to Grande Isle and Port Fourchon, Louisiana’s southernmost port, which services over 90% of the Gulf of Mexico’s deepwater oil production and 16 to 19% of the U.S. oil supply.

DDI was chosen for this critical restoration project due to prior project performance of similar scope and nature. This was an emergency project to rebuild approximately 27,500 LF of a vital, high voltage transmission line destroyed by Hurricane Laura.

The scope of work for this project called for our team to provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to provide right-of-way access and support services for the client’s transmission line contractors.

DDI was engaged in this project well after the commencement of construction. Unseasonal rains and the general low-lying elevation of this project significantly altered the site conditions and required an immediate response, which did not allow for a detailed scope of work or matting plan to be developed.
